Setting aside the Round of 16 victory over Portsmouth in the Papa John's Trophy and the Emirates FA Cup Third Round triumph at Newcastle, the U's Head Coach led his team to an unbeaten month in Sky Bet League One to begin the calendar year.
After getting the month underway with a goalless draw at home to Portsmouth, United reeled off three straight wins over Lincoln City, Doncaster Rovers and Crewe Alexandra before sharing the spoils with Fleetwood Town.
Bonner is up against competition in the form of Lincoln City's Michael Appleton, MK Dons' Liam Manning and Wigan Athletic's Leam Richardson.
