Academy boys head out on loan

5 August 2022

Saleem Akanbi and Harvey Beckett warm-up ahead of last season's Papa John's Trophy tie against Rotherham United

Cambridge United’s Saleem Akanbi, Harvey Beckett, Dan Barton and Brandon Njoku have joined St Neots Town on loan…

They will link up with Peter Gill, St Neots Town Manager and Cambridge United Academy Senior Professional Development Phase Coach.

"Both Dan and Brandon have spent the majority of pre-season with St Neots, while Saleem and Harvey have been working hard to return to full fitness," Academy Manager Dom Knighton said.

"We are looking forward to watching all four lads continue their development in a competitive senior environment under the tutelage of Pete.

"While those lads head out to St Neots, we would also like to wish Myles Cowling the best of luck as he joins Step 3 outfit St Ives on loan."

Dan, Brandon and Saleem will all be involved in the Saints FA Cup tie this evening while Harvey is still returning to full fitness.

Everyone at Cambridge United wishes Brandon, Dan, Harvey, Myles and Saleem all the very best whilst out on loan.
