The Men's and Women's 2022 Varsity Matches between Cambridge University Association Football Club and Oxford University Association Football Club will be played at the Abbey Stadium...
Taking place on Sunday 13 March 2022, the Abbey will play host to the oldest game in football for the first time since 2014/15. The Women's match will get the action underway at 1:30pm before the Men take to the pitch at 4:30pm.
CEO Ian Mather said, "We are delighted to see the Varsity Match return to The Abbey for the first time in seven years. We want this to be a fun day out for everyone in Cambridge. The men’s match has been played since the 1873/74 season and, sad to say, Cambridge have never won when the game has been played in Cambridge. That is some losing streak to overcome.
"We will also be hosting the Women’s game on the same day and it would be great to get lots of local support to cheer on both teams.”
