Cambridge United are pleased to today unveil the highly anticipated 2019/20 away kit – inspired by the shirt worn by the U's during the 1993/94 season, as chosen by Cambridge United supporters.
Last year the Club gave the Amber Army the opportunity to have their say on the U's appearance on the road in 2019/20, with a poll to decide which of three previous designs worn by the U's would inspire the forthcoming season's kit. And yesterday the Club revealed that the Amber Army had selected the 1993/94 away shirt - winning by a clear margin.
Thanks to the truly bespoke kits produced by the Club's newly announced Technical Partner hummel, this year's away shirt therefore features a modern twist on the eye catching colours and unique pattern across the 93/94 jersey on the front panel as a nod to the jersey cherished by U's fans.
The 2019/20 kit of course features the iconic hummel chevrons down the sleeves and side of the shorts, adding to the retro feel and aligning with the new look U's home shirt (announced last month) as part of the Next Chapter initiative at the Abbey.
Like the home kit, Cambridge United are proud to be carrying the names of club sponsors Mick George on the front, Hill on the rear of the shirts and SOS Leak Detection on the back of the shorts.

Having created a way for fans to have the opportunity to make the final say on this season's away kit, there was a terrific take up from supporters who were decisive in selecting which 90's kit we should take inspiration from.
"We must then credit Gareth Daniels our Retail & Ticketing Manager - who has served the Club brilliantly for many years - for having the creativity and ability to give this kit new life and create what I hope many will remember as a truly stand-out Cambridge United shirt for years to come."

"Following on from the retro-inspired clean design that we implemented for our new home shirt, the new away shirt consists of a fully sublimated front panel with a plain white back. The white sleeves feature navy hummel chevrons and underarms, with sky blue detailing on the cuffs and a navy trim around the back of the collar. The shirt is finished off with a tonal club crest"
