SAFETY NOTICE | NORTH HABBIN EMERGENCY GATE TO REMAIN CLOSED

24 August 2017

Cambridge United would like to inform supporters the emergency gate located at the end of the North Habbin Stand leading to the Newmarket Road End will remain closed until fans have cleared both stands at the conclusion of home fixtures this season.

Following a S.A.G meeting earlier this year, in which an inspection identified fans waiting in the corner around the final whistle on home match days, blocking the emergency gate into the Newmarket Road End, the decision to keep the gate closed has been put in place for the 2017/18 season.

The area between the North Habbin and N.R.E is also an area of the ground for Disabled supporters, who have been unable to exit due to the large footfall exiting from the North Habbin Stand.

Supporters in the North Habbin are advised to exit through the gates located at the rear of the stand.

The Club would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused but clarifies that the decision has been made to ensure supporter safety.
