It has been a busy week on U's Net, with two games to prepare for and all the pages that need to be updated after each game. Four points from two tough away games were very welcome and, thanks to reports written for the "Moosenet" mailing list, we were all able to read about the games from the supporters' perspective. We also read some shocking accounts of the events at Halifax, both on and off the pitch.

After the win at Cardiff I was able to unveil a new 'feature' on the match reports page which I can confidently state is quite unique. Thanks to Mark Johnson, a 20 second burst of "Coconuts" can be heard as you read the page of match reports from a game that we won. I hope that I have to include that sound file in a lot more match reports this season!

There have been two opinion polls since our last home game. In the wake of transfer speculation, the first showed that two thirds of the voters would like to see Scott McGleish return to Cambridge United, especially if one of our current strikers is sold. The second poll was to ask who you thought should play in goal now that Arjan Van Heusden is injured, and over two thirds voted for Shaun Marshall with the overwhelming opinion being to "give youth a chance".

The next poll on U's Net will be to help the Club collect votes for the Football League's "Local Hero" scheme. I hope to have the 20 name shortlist on the web site by this evening to allow the participation of fans without access to this match programme.

Finally, and to complete the guide to U's Net, here are a few pages that have not been mentioned yet. The "What's New?" page summarises recent changes to the site and draws attention to any updated pages as well as new features or opinion polls. Another page called "About This Site" gives a brief history of U's Net, explains the aims of the site and offers the opportunity for visitors to fill in a form to give feedback and their views on what they would like to see more or less of. There are also details of a few awards that the site has been given over the last two years.

Another section is called "Fun Stuff" and as well as the obligatory page of jokes and "sound effects" dedicated to our P*sh rivals, there is a link to a site offering a live quiz with football questions and prizes. Another link leads to a Java game called "Kickham" based on a certain England footballer's antics during the World Cup, and there is an internal link to the ever-popular Abbey Arms chat room.

The other part of the site that I have not mentioned before is possibly one of the most interesting to a new visitor. Most web sites offer a "guestbook" for visitors to sign and read and U's Net is no exception, with United fans signing in from literally all over the world. Recent entries come from China, Finland, Japan and Croatia to name just a very few, and there are enough U's in Australia to start a fan club!

One other noticeable fact is the number of fans of opposing clubs who visit the site and take the time to leave a message. Cardiff City fans left some very nice messages before the game last weekend, but whether they felt the same on Saturday evening I couldn't begin to guess!
