Thursday 25th November 1999 : United's box to box appeal

Cambridge United players and staff added their shoe boxes of gifts to the Croatia appeal this afternoon. The boxes will be among more than 300 driven to Croatia by Fred Binks, who leaves in his lorry on December 1st with Humanitarian Aid.

This charity was set up by Fred Binks a number of years ago and he has spent his time colllecting donations of gifts for refugees and delivering the aid to where it is needed. He also spends time raising funds to pay for the trailer and vans to carry the aid, while his helpers are all unpaid volunteers.

The Christmas boxes will arrive in the camps and orphanages by December 6th in time for the refugees and orphans Holy Day.
