| Thursday 25th November 1999 : McFarland on date switch and Wrexham game |
|
Roy McFarland is happy with the decision to switch our FA Cup third round tie against Crystal Palace to a Friday night.
Looking back to the game on Tuesday night at Wrexham, when the U's took the lead but had to settle for a 1-1 draw, he commented, "Their goal was disappointing. We gave Wrexham the ball and they broke on us. But overall it was another good away performance to build on. "We defended very well, much better than earlier in the season, and I think were a bit unfortunate not to get the three points. The important thing was our improvement continued, and we are putting a bit of a run together now." Tom Youngs scored for the reserves yesterday afternoon in their 1-0 win at Northampton Town, and it has been confirmed that Martin Butler's booking at Wrexham was only his fourth of the season, not his fifth, so he will not miss the AWS tie with Barnet, or the FA Cup tie if the Barnet game is switched. |
