Tuesday 23rd November 1999 : FA Cup date change confirmed

United's FA Cup third round tie has been switched to the evening of Friday 10th December, it was announced this evening.

Assistant secretary Mark Johnson confirmed that due to a major animal rights demo in Cambridge on Saturday 11th December, which would stretch Police resources too far on a day when Peterborough United are also due to play a home game, the game has been switched and will kick-off at 7.45pm on Friday the 10th.

"The game will be all ticket for Palace fans," he added, "but not for United."

Main Stand and Family Stand season ticket holders should buy their tickets in advance to guarantee their usual seats. There will be no voucher scheme at the turnstiles as there was for the first and second round ties, and all tickets will be printed and available for sale. Terrace spectators should pay on the gate as usual.
