  Monday 15th November 1999 : Confident McFarland

Roy McFarland threw caution to the wind today by predicting that Cambridge United will be in the draw for the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday evening.

Speaking to the Cambridge Evening News he said, "When we get through, which we will, it will give us a run of three good results to go into two very important second division matches at Wrexham and Blackpool."

The U's can build on a good 1-1 draw at Bristol City and last Friday's 3-1 home win against Luton Town, while Bamber Bridge have lost their last two games and their manager admits his players have their minds on the cup tie.

McFarland added, "After beating Luton we can relax a bit now and enjoy the Cup game."

Meanwhile the unnamed first division striker mentioned by McFarland last week was due to start training with United today. He arrives on trial to allow the coaches to have a better look at him, and rumours from Nottingham suggest that he could be Forest striker Steve Guinan.
