Wednesday 31st May 2000 : Everybody needs good neighbours |
|
Cambridge United media release: Cambridge United's next door neighbours Herbert Robinson Honda have come to the rescue of United skipper Paul Wanless in his hour of need.
Happily both battles were won and when Paul contemplated a family holiday he realised his enlarged family would struggle to get into his own car for the long journey to Weymouth. This is where neighbours Herbert Robinson Honda have helped out by providing Paul with a Honda Shuttle which, according to Peter Moden, Service Manager, "will ensure a comfortable and trouble-free journey for the whole family." Peter added, "We have been full of admiration for Paul's efforts on and off the pitch and we are only too pleased to help out." United's PR Manager Graham Eales, who has helped Paul co-ordinate the fund-raising effort for SCBU which is ongoing and currently stands at around £2,000 has been most impressed by the support from fans, players and local businesses. "This is a tremendous gesture from Herbert Robinson Honda. Everybody realises what a difficult time it has been for Paul but throughout his ordeal his integrity and professionalism have shone through. These are the very virtues Herbert Robinson strive towards in their day to day business throughout the year so they were thrilled to help him and his family have an enjoyable and thoroughly deserved annual holiday."
