Thursday 18th May 2000 : Horton denies Eustace interest

Port Vale manager Brian Horton has denied the stories that he is interested in signing U's defender Scott Eustace. The Valiants were relegated from Division One at the end of the season and released eight players last week.

Eustace, who will be 25 next month, ended the season as a key player with some fine performances at the heart of the defence but he will be a free agent if he does not agree a new deal with Cambridge United by next month. Midfielder Neil Mustoe is another player who has yet to agree to stay at the Abbey.
