Wednesday 3rd May 2000 : Andy Duncan makes comeback behind closed doors

Andy Duncan made his comeback in yesterday's 'behind closed doors friendly' at the Abbey against Peterborough United. The defender broke his leg in October and has battled back to fitness, returning to training two weeks ago after a week at Lilleshall for assessment.

"It was good to see all three of them on the pitch again," Roy McFarland told the Cambridge Evening News. "Alex will be the only one in consideration for our final game against Wycombe on Saturday, but they are all making good progress.

"It's been a long haul for Andy since last October, and this was his first contact game since then. He was obviously apprehensive, and found it a bit strange, but there were no problems with the injury, and now he can look forward to being ready for pre-season training when it comes around in July. It's a big boost for the club to have the three of them getting back to fitness as we start to make our plans for next season."
