Wednesday 29th March 2000 : Reserves win against Bristol City |
|
The reserves recorded a good win against Bristol City reserves at the Abbey Stadium this afternoon. It was a more settled side than in recent weeks with no trialists on show other than Daniel Grieves who signed non-contract terms on deadline day to allow the 21-year-old former Watford midfielder to continue his extended trial with the club. Ben Chenery captained the side who ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Zema Abbey and Grieves, and Abbey reportedly had a "superb" first half. Clive Wilson made his comeback at left-back after a five week lay-off with a knee injury and could be in contention for the first team at Oldham on Saturday if he suffers no ill-effects.
