Sacked striker Steve Guinan will take professional advice before commenting on the circumstances of his departure from Cambridge United.

News of his sacking reached the national press and major football web sites today, but Guinan is staying silent until he has spoken to his agent and the PFA.

It is the second time the former Nottingham Forest reserve has hit the news this season, as he left Scunthorpe under notable circumstances earlier this season. When he refused to commit himself to a second month's loan with the Iron, manager Brian Laws demanded the return of the club tracksuit on the spot and left the player to borrow clothes in which to drive himself home.
