| Monday 20th March 2000 : Match reactions |
|
Roy McFarland acknowledged that defensive frailities cost his side dear on Saturday afternoon and reacted by calling the players in for training yesterday. "I never felt comfortable from the first minute when they got through and should have scored. Their front two were too mobile for us," he told the Cambridge Evening News. Wrexham boss Bryan Flynn played down talk of a revenge for the FA Cup fourth round defeat at the Racecourse Ground and in today's Western Mail underlined what mattered at this stage of the season: "Points are precious, as are places, at the moment. If you were neutral it was probably a great game. But it was a good win and if you score four goals away from home you expect to win." |
