Monday 19th June 2000 : Late rush boosts season ticket sales

A late rush for discounted season tickets boosted sales to 1,536 by Friday evening, but the total so far falls short of last season's figure.

Assistant secretary Mark Johnson explained today that the slight drop was not surprising as last season's total of 1,775 came on the back of a promotion season, "which is the way it has always happened for United". He also reminds supporters that season tickets remain on sale, and even without the 'early purchase' discount they offer savings of between 22% and 29% over the cost of buying individual tickets for all home matches. Next season's fixtures are due to be published on Thursday and a fixture card will be enclosed with all season tickets when they are posted at the end of the month.
