Cambridge United fans will be shocked to learn that Paul Wanless became a father again on Saturday but that the baby has been seriously ill.

The U's skipper left his wife's hospital bed on Saturday to produce a towering performance against Chesterfield, and the baby girl was born later that day. I understand she was born ten weeks prematurely and has been very poorly this week, although her condition is now stable, and I am sure all U's fans join me in sending best wishes and hopes that she continues to improve to Paul, his wife and family.
