Thursday 20th January 2000 : Goalscoring 'keeper linked

Teletext reports today that goalkeeper Jimmy Glass - the man who scored the last-gasp goal that kept Carlisle in the Football League last season - has had talks with Cambridge United. The 26-year-old returned to Swindon after his loan spell at Carlisle but failed to break into the first team and has negotiated his release from his existing contract, which had two years to run.

On Swindon's Teamtalk page manager Jimmy Quinn said, "Jimmy hasn't been playing and he said he wanted first-team football. We've come to an agreement which suits him and suits us."

There has been no official comment from Cambridge United but there could be something in the story with Arjan Van Heusden transfer-listed at his own request.
