| Thursday 24th February 2000 : Exclusive: Ken Steggles treatment room update |
|
Ken looks forward to answering supporters' questions so if you have any please drop me a line. Neil Mustoe: "He took a heavy blow to the right ankle at Bury. He's been under treatment and might train tomorrow, and hopefully there will be no problem on Saturday." Alex Russell (recovering from an operation on his thigh muscle): "Alex is back at the club again. I changed his dressings this morning and the surgeons did a very neat job on that. He is due to have a check-up next Wednesday and we're hoping for the go ahead to start some rehabilitation. "I told you how delicate the operation was ("like stitching together a wet tissue") so we have to be very careful with him. He's still on crutches at the moment and we're hoping for the OK for him to start driving again soon." Steve Guinan: "He's damaged his right hamstring and is definitely out for Saturday, and it looks like being next week before he can do any training. The problem is near the top of his leg rather than lower down so it could be a few weeks." Andy Duncan (broken leg in October and operation to remove spur of bone from heel last month): "Andy's back to jogging again. albeit tentatively, and we're getting back to where we were a few weeks ago, so it hasn't set us back too much at all." Clive Wilson (knee ligament damage): "Mr Wilson had an arthroscope yesterday at the Evelyn Hospital to see if there was any internal damage to the knee, and I'm pleased to say there's not, but he's going to be sidelined for a few weeks." |
