Sunday 20th February 2000 : Trevor speculation starts again

It was inevitable that his recent performances and goal tally would attract more media attention and unsurprisingly Trevor Benjamin has been linked with a move to a top flight club. The People newspaper and the Observer's 'Tabloid Tales' column both report today that Leicester City have been watching the 21-year-old striker and are linked with a £1 million-plus bid in the summer.

Benjamin has been watched by a host of clubs in the last couple of seasons and most recently first division West Bromwich Albion manager Brian Little admitted that he admired the player and could be interested in trying to sign him. Leicester striker Emile Heskey has long been linked with a summer move to Liverpool, and if those stories are true then the Foxes would have to go a long way to find a more natural replacement for their big striker.
