Danish news sources and a report on the Esbjerg web site this afternoon indicate that midfielder John Hansen has signed for Cambridge United.

The reported fee for the 25-year-old six-footer is 60,000Kr which is about £5,000. Hansen has been on trial at the Abbey along with Esbjerg teammate Jorgen Kristensen, a defender, and they both played in the reserve team's 7-3 win at Leyton Orient last week.

When Roy McFarland spoke about him earlier this week he indicated that he would be trying to agree terms with Hansen who he sees taking on the creative role vacated by the injured Alex Russell.
