Monday 13th December 1999 : Ken Steggles - Update from the treatment room

Physio Ken Steggles provided another injury update today, reviewing the progress of Andy Duncan as he recovers from his broken leg and four other players who are returning from injury.

I will be speaking to Ken for updates on the injury situation each week so if you have any questions to ask him please let me know.

Andy Duncan: "Andy is going in the Evelyn Hospital today to have the first screw removed. It's the large one holding most of his ankle together. It will be done under local anaesthetic and hopefully means that he can start doing some weight-bearing work and crack on a bit. He's doing well, he's ahead of schedule at the moment."

Martin McNeil: "He's under treatment for a knee ligament injury received in training. We managed to get him through for Crystal Palace but he's still having a small amount of treatment."

Neil Mustoe: "He's had some manipulation for a lumbar spine injury which was causing problems into the hamstring. He's OK now, training and playing OK."

Scott Paterson - "He injured his thigh in a reserve game a couple of weeks ago. He will hopefully be back in training on Tuesday. He came through a good workout today."

Paul Wanless - "He picked up a shin injury against Bournemouth. It was a laceration and bruising of the bone and it was a bit painful against Crystal Palace."
