Brentford owner Ron Noades is continuing to tell anyone who will listen that he wants Martin Butler and Trevor Benjamin at Griffin Park and he sounds confident that he will sign one as soon as next week.
He claimed again that our valuation of Butler has increased to an unreasonable level so he has switched his attentions to youth team graduate Benjamin (left) and expects to sign him as soon as we are out of the Cup. On the Teamtalk web site Noades is quoted saying, "Crystal Palace could do me a favour. If they beat Cambridge we should be able to sign Benjamin on Saturday." Meanwhile in yesterday's Standard he commented, "Nobody is willing to sell at the moment, until they get knocked out of the FA Cup. I think Cambridge will sell Butler, once they've been knocked out. We have made two offers to them. They won't sell both but they will sell one." |
