The sports newspaper claim that if Gills boss Peter Taylor offered £750,000 for Butler the U's board would find it hard to resist. The 25-year-old is widely admired and several bids from Brentford have been turned down, while Nottingham Forest manager David Platt admitted last week that he was keeping tabs on United's top scorer. However Friday's Cambridge Evening News reported that chairman Reg Smart reassured supporters that, despite the continuing speculation, "Nobody is leaving Cambridge United at this time."
