Thursday 27th April 2000 : Final match day is Family Day |
|
With Cambridge United having secured their Division Two status on Monday and exciting plans for the redevelopment of the Abbey Stadium in the pipeline, the U's are encouraging families to attend their final home game of the season against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday 6th May (kick-off 3pm). Tickets for family groups of two adults and two concessions (children or OAPs) are available at the following discounted rates:
For each Family Group booking made, United will also be giving away two vouchers for a free drink of lemonade from the Abbey Stadium Tea Bars. This season the Club has welcomed more than 2,000 new supporters to home games as part of the Nationwide Season of Promise. In the hope that many of these will become regular supporters in the future the club is encouraging family groups to attend the final game of the season with this special offer. The offer will also be extended to family groups from Wycombe Wanderers.
Also at this game more than 50 Away Travel stalwarts who have travelled more than 2,000 supporting the Us this season will be guests of the club. Manager Roy McFarland is quick to acknowledge the part played by supporters in United's recent upsurge in fortunes: "It should be a great atmosphere and gives my players and I the chance to show the fans how much we really do appreciate the tremendous support they've given us throughout the season." |
