Monday 17th April 2000 : U's ticket quiz for Easter Monday fixture

Cambridge United confirmed today that the Easter Monday (24th April, kick-off 3pm) fixture at home to Preston North End will definitely be all-ticket following the news that the visitors were expecting to sell their full allocation by the close of business today. United are therefore urging non-season ticket holders to purchase their tickets as soon as possible from the Abbey Stadium ticket office.

However, in an attempt to ensure that tickets for the home areas are solely for United supporters, fans may be asked to answer questions on the Club in a similar way to that which Grimsby Town operated for their home fixture with Manchester City.

The fixture will be a vitally important one for both teams and despite handing over the Habbin Stand to the visitors in previous similar circumstances, the Club is keen to maintain the home advantage off the pitch as well as on it.

Tickets for all home areas can be purchased over the phone, on 01223 566500, subject to a £1 booking fee and a correct answer or two. The ticket office will be open Monday to Good Friday, 9am to 5pm, and on Saturday morning from 9am to midday.

United have sold the full allocation of tickets for away supporters for the Easter Saturday fixture at Colchester, and U's fans will not be able to purchase a ticket for either fixture on the day of the game.
