  Tuesday 11th April 2000 : News round-up - Eustace ban/Cardiff match/petition

Scott Eustace will definitely miss the match at Colchester United on Easter Saturday. The defender, who recovered from a dead leg to put in a towering performance against Bristol Rovers on Saturday, collected his tenth yellow card of the season against Bury. Marc Joseph could deputise, especially if Clive Wilson is fit to return at left-back after coming through last night's reserve match.

The relegation 'six pointer' at Cardiff City this Saturday will kick-off at 3.06pm in recognition of the 11th anniversary of the Hillsborough Disaster. Kick-off will be immediately preceded by a minute's silence to honour the dead.

Cardiff City have suffered a blow ahead of the match with the news that goalkeeper Jon Hallworth is out for the rest of the season after breaking a finger at Preston on Saturday. Seamus Kelly is expected to deputise.

Cambridge United Football Club and the CUSA are organising a petition to urge the Dept of the Environment, Transport & the Regions (DETR), John Prescott's Office, to approve the sale of the small amount of allotment land urgently needed to allow the redevelopment of the Abbey Stadium. The petition was launched at Saturday's match and forms are available from CUSA members or the club offices, while electronic versions will be available for signature or downloading from this site as soon as possible.
