Jon Mansfield's match report:
A mixture of trialists, fringe and youth team players featured in a three nil victory for the U's at Fenland Park. First team players included Billy Beall, Ian Ashbee, Jamie Barnwell (first half), along with the much awaited trialist Chris Marsh and Neil Moore.

The game took place in front of a crowd of 205, approximately 20 of them sporting the black and amber. It was a scrappy affair with neither side dominating the game, United took the lead mid-way through the first half when a shot from trialist centre back Neil Moore was deflected past the home keeper by the Wisbech first half substitute. It was a goal United just about deserved after having a previous effort by Barnwell disallowed for what looked like a very dubious (from where I was standing) offside decision. Wisbech tried hard but rarely troubled Sean Marshall in the United goal. Chris Marsh failed to impress at right back for United, while Ashbee again had a poor game in midfield. Beall always busy in midfield was a handful for the old and rather portly Wisbech defenders.

The second half was similar to the first, but Wisbech had a good spell midway and should have got on the score sheet on at least one occasion, squandering good chances from close range. Mark McCammon made a good impression after coming on as substitute scoring two goals in as many minutes as the Wisbech old boys started to fade late in to the match, his first was a header from a cross hit high at the far post on 86 minutes, his second two minutes later was banged into the top right hand corner as he was given time to turn in the box.

Yes we won the cup, The Addenbrookes Charity Cup, allright its a start. 500 was raised for Addenbrookes.

Mark McCammon looks a good prospect, took his two goals very well. The best run of the game was from Trevor Benjamin, he was not playing just getting the coffees in for Roy and Preecey.

Many thanks to Jon Mansfield for his match report.
